This shapefile contains elementary school data interpolated to census tracts for Massachusetts. 

The shapefile contains the following school related demographic and testing information for academic year 2006-2007:

1.  OBJECTID    -       The unique ID for each record in the table

2.  DISTRICTID  -       The unique ID for each school district

3.  DISTNAME    -       Name of school District
 
4.  STARTGRADE  -       Starting grade for school District

5.  ENDGRADE    -       Ending grade for school District

6.  DISTCODE4   -       4-Digit School District code

7.  DISTCODE8   -       8-Digit School District code

8.  SHAPE_AREA  -       Land area

9.  SHAPE_LEN   -       Perimeter      

10. EXPENDITUR  -       Student Expenditures(Expenditure per pupil)

11. _GRADUATE   -       Graduation rate(Percentage of students graduating)
                        (Formula: GRADUATE/ENROLL)

12. _DROPPED    -       Dropout rate(Percentage of dropouts)
                        (Formula: DROPOUT/ENROLL)

13. _OF_TEACH   -       Percentage of Highly Qualified Teachers (HQT)
                        (Formula: HQT/TEACHERS)

14. _OF_CORE    -       Percentage of core classes taught by qualified teachers
                        (Formula:Total number of core classes/Number of core classes taught by qualified teachers)

15. 3RD_ENGLIS  -       Percentage of 3rd graders who met standards on English test (Formula: ENGLISH/ ENROLL_3)

16. 3RD_MATH    -       Percentage of 3rd graders who met standards on Math test (Formula: MATH/ ENROLL_3)

17. LOW_INCOME  -       Percentage of economically disadvantaged students
